Originated in the 16th century the earliest wallpapers were used to decorate the inside of cupboards and smaller rooms in merchant's houses rather than the grand houses of aristocracy. Popular black-printed wallpapers in the late 1700s and early 1800s included floral chintzes, toil, flocked damasks, patterns with architectural motifs, arabesques, and complex striped patterns. Wallpaper came to America in 1739, in early America, colonials copied European fashions. Paint could chip and peel from moisture or accidental collisions, whereas wallpaper stood up to most situations much better. Wallpapers have never gone out of fad, although their styles have evolved over the years.

Traditional Wallpaper vs Removable Wallpapers

Traditional wallpaper is the type of non-woven wallpaper that is not self-adhesive. Unpasted, Traditional, wallpaper needs an adhesive that must be pasted on to the paper or the wall before applying the paper and it was extremely difficult to clean and remove.

Removable wallpaper refers to the backing of the wallpaper, which contains natural and synthetic. It is breathable, which reduces risk of mold. It allows to be cleaned with a damp cloth and it is easy to be removed without difficulties.

Prepasted wallpaper has paste applied to the back of it. Man can wet the back and begin to apply the wallpaper to the wall once the paste is sticky. Peel and stick wallpaper, also called removable or self-adhesive wallpaper is is a wallpaper that comes with an adhesive backing and is applied similarly to a decal. This type of wallcovering is fun solution and the removal process makes it a top choice for many renters.

How to Remove Wallpaper

Removal of your previous wallpaper takes a bit of work but it isn't that difficult. In most cases you will be able to peel off the wallpaper with little effort. Peel the wallpaper closely against the wall to keep it from damaging the surface. Use a spray bottle to soak the paper to remove the wallpaper.

How to Install Wallpaper

PVC-free, odor-free wallpaper alternative for wallcovering is safe for use in any environment. It is also mold resistant, designed specifically to resist and prevent the growth of mold. As benefit it is easy to install and remove without glues or water troughs.

You would be able to do it with simple tools. The tools you will need are: a damp sponge, a spray bottle filled with water, a razor knife, a squeegee, and a metal putty knife.

Before installation make sure size, prime, and clean all walls from dust, dirt, and debris. Give the prime 24 hours to dry.

Back Roll each panel to relax any curls. Put panels upside down and spray evenly with water book the panel and let it set for 5 minutes.

Hang the first panel at corner or plumb line as predetermined by design. Unbook the top of the panel and place it on the wall, unbook the bottom section, press against the wall, smooth out the air and bubbles with squeegee carefully. When you are done smoothing down entire panel wipe it with damp sponge in order to remove excess of any water and adhesive. Repeat the process with remaining panels by going over entire wall with damp sponge to make sure removing all the excess of water and glue.
